It's hard to get rid off the feeling that you are watching a bunch of ex-popstars.
Enthusiastic and skilled, indeed, but still a band with it's greatness behind them, which tour and give gigs in venues that only is halfful. A little bit sad despite good starting songs like The Flasher, Lovething and Like a John needs a Yoko.
But Niclas Frisk and his old mate Micke Lhose on keyboard don't seem to mind, throwing confetti, moving their hips as they used to do back in 1993.
They mix new songs - that work better live than on the "soso"
cd, the broken habanas - with old songs to the audiences - including Japanese
who came up to see - big joy. And slowly, slowly they get everybody on their side.
When the gig goes to the end with a knockout-version of "Venus Addiction"
the hole place glows in red of the unexpected and nice mix of rock, soul
and music from the 90's, and surprisingly not the final Smile” makes everybody to put on their biggest smile.
See you next summer” says the made up, brilliant composer Niclas Frisk. You have to believe him.
確かに狂熱的で技術にも長けている。しかし未だ過去の栄光が後を追っているのか、ツアーの数も会場の入りも半分程度といったところだろうか。オープニングにふさわしい「The Flasher」「Lovething」「Like a John needs a Yoko」のような曲をやっているにもかかわらず、反応はやや寂しい。
“See you next summer”メイキャップをした優れた作曲家、ニクラス・フリスクは言う。
あなたは彼を信じなければならない。
